Start Trading NowHolding a position overnight carries a swap charge or credit - depending on your position direction and the interest rate differential between the two currencies involved. Use the Swap Calculator to estimate potential overnight financing costs or credits based on your position and relevant interest rate differentials.

A swap - also known as a rollover or overnight financing charge - is a fee or credit applied to any open CFD position that is held past the daily market close (typically 00:00 server time). It reflects the interest rate differential between the two currencies in a pair, or the financing cost of holding a leveraged position in a non-forex instrument.
Depending on the direction of your trade and the prevailing interest rates, a swap can result in either a charge (debit) applied to your account or a credit added to your account. For example, if you are long a currency with a higher interest rate than the one you are short, you may receive a positive swap credit. If you are short the higher-rate currency, you will incur a swap charge.
On Wednesdays, swaps are commonly adjusted to account for the weekend settlement period, when markets are closed but positions remain open.

Wednesday's swap is applied at triple the standard rate to account for the two weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) when the market is closed, but positions remain open and financing costs continue to accrue.
